About Nordic Roots
Nordic Roots is a website dedicated to the genealogy and history of several families who emigrated from Norway and Sweden to the United States in the 19th Century.
From Norway, the Cornelius family emigrated from islands in Leka and Vikna in Nord-Trøndelag county, and the Monseth family from Nordfjordeid in Sogn og Fjordane county.
From Sweden, the Nelson family emigrated from the old Swedish counties of Kristianstad (Skåne) and Halland, from farms in the vicinity of the district of Bjäre. The Ahlberg and Sandberg families are also rooted in Bjäre, although the Sandberg line originated in the county of Värmland.
